DON’T FORGET!

  1. Be ready to sign up for May workshop.  It is going to be fabulous.  Mary Bass is an outstanding teacher with decades of experience and the patience of the Dali Lama.  (I am not kidding).

2.  Round Robineers!  Be ready to do your swap.  I am still working on mine (Seriously, not a good example, I know).   If you are not able to swap at the guild meeting, make arrangements.

President’s Challenge Announcement Coming on Saturday

At our April meeting this Saturday, I’ll be announcing this year’s President’s Challenge.

Before then, I have a small invitation for you.

Take a quick look around your sewing space this week and think about this question:

What have you been wanting to create?

Maybe it’s a quilt you’ve been thinking about for months.
A technique you’ve been wanting to try.
Or a project that’s been patiently waiting for the right moment.

I’d love to hear what’s on your mind.

If you’re not on Facebook, you can share your thoughts by:

• leaving a comment on this post
• or sending me a quick email at mgsengstack@msn.com

We’ll see if we can stitch a few of those ideas together at the meeting on April Saturday. 😉

Important Reminder About Email Scams

Dear Savannah Quilt Guild Members,

It has come to our attention that a spam email may be circulating that appears to come from me as President of the Guild, possibly asking for money or financial assistance for the Guild.

Please know that this message is not legitimate and was not sent by me or by the Savannah Quilt Guild.

As a reminder, scammers sometimes impersonate organization leaders in an attempt to trick recipients into sending money or sharing personal information. If you receive an email that seems unusual or asks for financial support unexpectedly, please take a moment to:

  • Check the sender’s email address carefully. Scam emails often use addresses that look similar but are not the official sender.
  • Be cautious about requests for money, gift cards, or urgent financial assistance.
  • When in doubt, reach out directly via a known email address to confirm the request before responding.
  • Never open attachments from any email that seems suspicious.

If you ever receive a message that seems suspicious or out of the ordinary, you are always welcome to contact me directly to verify whether it is legitimate.

Thank you for helping keep our Guild community safe and informed.

Warm regards,
Michael Sengstack

PL Quilt Kits / Scrappy Sewing

Hello Guild Members,

If you took home a Project Linus Quilt Kit at the March meeting, you do not have to have it completed by the April 11 meeting. You can return it at the May 9 meeting if you need more time.

Initially my mother was coming at the end of April to pick up the projects, but she’ll be coming in May instead.

I’d also like to remind everyone that Scrappy Sewing with Patty is happening now! For a $20 donation you will receive a total of eight quilt patterns designed to use up your stash of odds and ends. So far two quilt patterns are available for download, with the others released every other week.

If you haven’t registered, go to https://www.projectlinus.org/scrappy.php and be sure to enter Ellie Grix and Project Linus of Savannah and Hilton Head as your local chapter so that your donation stays local.

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up! If you make any of the Scrappy Sewing quilts (even if they’re not Project Linus blanket donations), be sure to bring them to Show and Tell! I can’t wait to see what you’ve made!

Purchase at Bette Drecktrah Estate Sale

Someone from the guild purchased a box of quilt cards and envelopes and left them on the cash table on Saturday April 4th at the sale from Bette’s house in Rincon. If it was you, please see me at the meeting on Saturday to pick up your box of cards. If you are not attending the meeting this Saturday, please let me know so that I can make sure you receive the cards.

Thanks
