April 18th Weekend Warriors sewing

Hello Quilters,

We will have the room on Saturday from 1:30 pm until 5pm to get some serious sewing done :).

As usual, we are meeting at the Epiphany Church (formerly Michael’s) on the corner of Waters and Washington Avenue. It is best to park on Washington as there is not only more secure parking but you can also access to the church via the court yard in the back right from Washington Avenue (look for the black iron gate/fence).

Feel free to bring your lunch or something to snack on. there is a microwave for heating your meal.

Bring your Round Robin project or anything else you are working on.

Hope to see you Saturday.

Regina and Karen

Fall 2026 Retreat openings

Given the increased interest in our Fall Retreat (October 22, 2026) the decision has been made to increase our limit from 30 to 40. In order to secure the needed space at St. Christopher Camp we ask that you indicate your commitment (respond to this email, complete a Registration Form and send the form and $100 deposit to Lanette Edens-2258 Armstrong Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31404). This needs to be done no later than our May 9 Guild Meeting. Payments will not be deposited until our minimum is met.

The option of arriving on Wednesday, October 21 is also available. Please make a note of this on your Registration Form if interested. The cost of the additional night is $68 for a double and $135 for a single.

You will find the Registration Form on the Retreat page of the website.

Thank you,

Georgia Southern Presents Sarah Garcia and her Research Poster on Quilts and Quilters.

Back in March, Sarah Garcia reached out for pictures and quilters that would support her research project on Quilting for a college class at Georgia Southern.  On Thursday, April 16th at 12:00 to 2:00 pm she will be presenting her Poster and the information that she gathered from several of our members.  The presentation will be in Hawes Hall at the old Armstrong campus on the south side of Savannah.  The campus is located at 11935 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31419.
She has invited our quilters to attend her and watch her presentation!
Here is her previous email describing her project:
My name is Sarah Garcia. I am the student from Georgia Southern that is conducting research on quilts! I was planning to attend the March meeting but was unfortunately out of town that day. I do hope to go to the meeting in April!
I was wondering if you would be able to send me some photos of quilts that have been made by Guild members? I will be presenting a research poster and would like to include photos of some local quilts. Thank you very much and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you!
Sarah Garcia
