If not, this is a perfect time. Under the ‘Files’ tab, the BOM’s can be found. These will be those going forward, though a few golden oldies may make a guest appearance.

Saturday’s Vest Class FYI’s

All those who signed up for the 2nd offering of the Quilty Vest Class, here are some tips for Jan. 10th’s Saturday’s post meeting class: Bring:

  • Your quilted Fronts and Back – use the pattern to cut it out if you feel confident
  • If you’re REALLY confident, baste the vest together at the Shoulders & side seams… you’ll be able to have a fitting with me first thing, where we’ll get the fit close to what you prefer.
  • Pre-cut BIAS binding (about 2 1/4″ – 2 1/2″ wide) Yes, must be on the bias (45 degrees)
  • Sewing machine, fabric scissors, pins & thread

Sept. 13th Quilty Vest Class Tool list

Hello quilty vest September 13th workshop attendees!

I hope you’re ready to craft your quilted fronts and back into a quilty vest.  You should be completed with Step 4… or for the adventurous, Step 5, 6 or 7. Misplaced your instructions?

  • SQG website has these 2 documents under ‘Resources’

Workshop objectives:

  • Learn ways to finish the seams and raw edges
  • Get help fitting the vest
  • Have fun while learning something new

 

What to bring:

  • 2 fronts and 1 back, patched, quilted and fabulous
  • Pattern for vest
  • Sewing machine
  • BIAS binding (your width preference, I cut mine at 2”)
  • Thread
  • Scissors (to cut our vest if you haven’t already)
  • Ruler
  • Chalk
  • Pins or clips
