Sew It Seams, Weekend Warriors

Hello Fellow Quilters,

I am excited to let you know that a new quilt bee has been created, specifically for those of SQG’s Members that are actively in the workforce (part-time/ full-time) for whom it is very difficult to attend sewing activities that take place during the week.

With that being said, this quilt bee is now known as “Sew It Seams, Weekend Warriors” and meet for sewing/quilting on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Our first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

So far, this group consists of 7 Members and is open to SQG Members (no visitors permitted). To participate, kindly reach out to Regina Harris (email: harrisrgm@yahoo.com or phone/text: 203-837-0322 (please identify yourself when texting, otherwise I do not respond).

Note that this Bee is designed for Members that are in the work force.

Sew It Seams, Weekend Warriors

When: 3rd Saturday of the Month

Time: 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Where: Talahi Community Center, 532 Quarterman Drive, Savannah

Contact: Regina Harris

The Talahi Community requests that a participant makes a donation of $2.00-$3.00 per Saturday they spend the afternoon at the center.

Additionally, we are required to set-up and break-down the tables, leave the space cleaned (including removal of all garbage) and ready for the next group’s use.

There is a pressing mat available for fusible work and three large regular cutting mats, irons and ironing board(s).

And of course, you can bring your own small iron and cutting mat, and, not to forget, your sewing machine.

I am excited to meet with fellow quilters for an afternoon of sewing fun! 

Knit Designs for baby hats

I wanted to share these 2-color knit designs I occasionally add to the baby hats. Note that the original “heart” design is upside down as it came from a pattern used for socks. When using for a baby hat, turn it so you can read the handwritten details.

I have have a design for knitting “hugs and kisses” into a hat which I will upload separately (once I locate and translate from German to English).
