Unique find: a GraceHoop2 2005 made by The Grace Company.

I picked up this almost brand new 22 inch handquilter’s hoop at a silent auction recently for only $60. I bought it with the Guild members in mind.  I am not a hand quilter. I only want to pass it along for the amount I paid.  I did so with the thought that someone in the Guild who hand quilts would love to have such a wonderfully engineered quilt hoop.  I will attach info about it. It seems to have originally sold new for $300. See pics of it as I get them posted.  The pic is of one I found from an old Craig’s list ad. I have pics on my phone, but not yet uploaded.

I don’t think we want to use our website to sell things, I am only offering this a something I found, bought and thought someone would love to have it.

Mask making

I did not hear back from the person at Candler/ St. Joseph today. I will call again tomorrow. No luck at Memorial either. Does anyone know a name and number of someone at Memorial that I should call?
I did pre wash fabric today. Will be sewing tomorrow.

Masks

I called Candler/St. Joseph and Memorial. I could not get through to Memorial, lines busy. The person from Candler/ St. Joseph sounded interested and said she would call me back after gathering more info.

Face Mask Video

This is the best video that I have found.  I’ve tried the elastic straps and find that they are too person specific.  Ties allow for any size to wear.  I made my own folded over strips made like bias tape by using 2″ strips the width of the fabric.  I like to put the ties on the sides, after basting the raw edge pleats in and sewing the top and bottom seams and inserting the wire.  I’m using a coated wire and bending in the ends too.  The wire is very helpful in keeping the mask in place.

I need to make 100 to send to our daughter who is an RN in Grand Junction, Colorado and in charge of 24 home health nurses that don’t have enough masks.  They are rationing them now to suspected cases.  I’m sure that there are needs here, but if anyone wants to help make this kind of masks and donate them to Shelley, give me a text or call.  912-755-9407

Also, Mary Bass is checking on the need here.
