SQG Meeting Reminder – This Saturday, September 11th

Special Notice:  Chairs will be spaced apart during the meeting and all attending members will be required to wear a mask due to the upsurge of the Covid Virus.  The meetings are important to so many of us and we want to be able to continue them without interruption.

The Saturday meeting will be a program by our own Julie Dobson.  She will catch us up on the launch of her patterns and fabric packs, along with her future classes and plans.  Julie will instruct us in the workshop after the meeting.  We will be making Halloween placemats for our October table dressings.  Check out the website under “Featured Events and Workshops” for the supply list.  Don’t forget to bring a lunch if you are attending the workshop.

September meeting was also the deadline for the President’s Challenge.  Bring your creative depictions of your Hometown themed quilts.  We are all anxious to see what this year’s challenge will produce.  It is inspiring to all of us to see the unique ways that people express their vision.  This will take the place of Show and Tell for September.

Friday Sew Bee ladies have a raffle quilt that they have made for a fund raiser for flooring at the Talahi Lake Community Center.  The quilt and tickets will be at the meeting this Saturday.  The tickets are $5 for 1 tickets or $20 for 5 tickets.  Bring cash to help support this worthy project.

Also, please bring your Apple and Pears to show during the workshop section of the meeting.

Scrappy Spider and Pumpkin Placemats with Julie Dobson.
Julie  has two adorable patterns for placemats for us to make just in time for Halloween. Pull orange scraps for the pumpkin or black scraps and an assortment of ribbons for the spider. This workshop is filling up fast, so contact me soon if you would like to attend. The fee is $20.00. Jan Smart

Masks will be required and the chairs will be spaced. Just a reminder to bring your Presidents Challenge project to share and your Apple and Pear project if you took the workshop last month. No Show and Tell however. Stay well everyone!!

Fabric Sale

Hello everyone,

I am bringing some lovely fabric to our meeting tomorrow. I am selling it on behalf of an elderly quilter. The guild (and me) receive no money from the sale of the fabric. Just wanted to make it available to you all-my quilting friends! The cost is $7 a yard.

See y’all tomorrow!
