December 10th Christmas lunch

I just wanted to remind everyone that next Saturday’s guild meeting is our Christmas luncheon. Just in case you forgot what you signed up to bring, below is a photo of the signup list (if I did it correctly!). In addition we will be collecting canned goods for those in need. And if you entered a quilt(s) in the Georgia National Fair don’t forget to bring it/them to display so everyone can see what great quilters you all are! See you Saturday! Kim Hayes

Mary Bass (Triaxial Weaving) will be at Sew Bee at 11:00 am tomorrow!

We have two exciting things happening tomorrow.  Marilyn Smith is displaying her quilts at a booth in the Thrive Craft Show.  It starts at 10:00 am to 2:00 pm tomorrow, Friday the 18th.  Thrive Senior Center on Skidaway Island.  5 Lake St, Savannah, GA 31411

The other fun thing is Mary will be helping us finish our Triaxial Weaving attempts 🙂 at the Friday Sew Bee.  Judy King will open the center at 10:00 am for Sew Bee members who are not attending the craft show.  At 11:00 am Mary will be at our Sew Bee to help others with Triaxial Weaving.  You do not have to be a Sew Bee member to attend.  Just stop by!  532 Quarterman Dr, Savannah, GA 31410

I will be attending the craft show at 10:00 am and should be back by 11:00 am.  If you have any questions please text or call me at 912-755-9407

Instructions for the Triaxial Weaving Workshop

Well, Triaxial Weaving was a 10 on the scale of challenging patterns for some of us today!  The first and second strips went well and then the third strip called for constant supervision.  If only we could have cloned Mary!

Our fearless instructor has agreed to come to Friday Sew Bee to help those who attended the workshop.  Please email me (Renee) at rippinrenee@gmail.com if you want to be added to Friday Sew Bee to work with Mary.

I have included a few tutorials that will help you achieve success in creating tumbling blocks.  The first one has a great way of showing the backwards z pattern that helps to guide you to the correct weaving of the tumbler blocks.
