Hello, All! We hope your Thanksgiving weekend was peaceful and relaxing. We are grateful for all of you who help to make the pillowcase project for Children’s Hospital such a great success. Without all the hard work, there would be fewer pillowcases to comfort children and families in the hospital.

The counting of pillowcases for the competition for the Yazzii project bag will end at the December guild meeting and the winner will be announced and the prize awarded at the January guild meeting. But we will still make pillowcases. We will meet at Lake Mayer on December 20th and 27th from 10-2. (Earlier dates were not available to us). Bring your machine to sew, snacks and water are provided. We have a lot of fun.

We will always accept child appropriate fabrics, solids or blenders and holiday fabrics. Financial donations can also be made at the front table at guild meetings. Thank you for all that you do. Your pillowcase team.

Good morning! Just a gentle reminder to please return your completed pillowcases to the meeting this Saturday. Also, we are looking for child appropriate fabrics including Valentine’s Day and also solids or tone on tone fabrics to blend with them. As always, we appreciate your contributions. Thank you for all of your pillowcases turned in and your donations of fabric! The dates for sewing pillowcases at Lake Mayer are Fridays Nov 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 10 til 2. Please bring your machine, extension cord, and all sewing materials. We will have the kits cut and ready to sew. We are now accepting donations of child appropriate Valentine’s Day fabric, reds, pinks and hearts.

Also at Lake Mayer there is quilting on the 7th (12:30-3:30, on the 14th (1-3) and on the 21st (12:30-3:30).

Hello,  happy quilters! I hope you are easing back to normal after a difficult aftermath of the storm.

Here are the dates for October for our meetups at Lake Mayer: every Thursday from 12:30-3:30 for quilting. Also, Fridays October 11, and 18 for sewing of pillowcases from 10:00 til 2:00.

We will not be cutting fabric, only sewing the pillowcases. Please bring your machine, thread, scissors, pins and your lunch. Frances and Lanette will be available to answer questions.

We are also in need of solid fabrics to make cuffs to go with fabric that has been donated. We are also looking for holiday fabrics suitable for children as we ready the kits for the next couple of months. Thank you all for your donations and help. Debbie

Hello fellow quilters! We will be at Lake Mayer tomorrow from 10 til 2 cutting new fabric for kits, and making pillowcases. Lanette and Jan will be there to teach how to make bags for Beads of courage too! It’s a lot of fun. Our dates in September are the 6th, the 13th, and the 20th. Hope you can join us. Hello, lovely quilters! The wonderful staff at Lake Mayer has made the event room available to us for four Fridays in August. We will be able to cut fabric, make up kits, sew pillowcases, beads of courage bags or whatever you choose. The dates are Aug 2, 9, 23, and 30 from 10:00 til 2:00. Bring your cutting tools and mat, your machine and your lunch. Water and snacks are supplied. And, remember, we always have an endless need for more fabric as you have made 946 pillowcases since January!!! Hope to see you there. Debbie and Frances
