Happy New Year dear quilters! That is the first time I have written 2026.

At the January meeting we will announce the next incentive to make pillowcases to start in February. It is the same as the last, you put your name in the jar every time you bring pillowcases to the meeting, to sewing meetups, to retreat, etc. A random drawing will be done at the April meeting to award a donated prize. I know you don’t need incentives, but they are fun😊.

The calendar is out for Lake Mayer: Thursdays the 8th, 22nd, and 29th 12:30-3:30. Fridays 22nd and 29th 10:00-12:00. If you would like instruction or help in making pillowcases, contact Frances or me and we will meet you there.

Remember to bring 2 pillowcases to the retreat or make them there. Kits will be available at meetings and at the retreat. Be sure to put your name in the jar! And thank you to our board for suggesting this.

And lastly, be on the lookout for clearance Christmas or Halloween fabric for 4.99 or under and let me know. We will start Halloween and Christmas in July this year. If you have any pillowcases that you have not finished, it is okay, bring them back and we will still use them.

Hello, lovely quilters! The schedule for sewing at Lake Mayer are Thursday and Friday, the 3rd and 4th, and Thursday and Friday the 10th and 11th. Thursdays are 12:30-3:30, and Fridays are 10:00-2:00. Havea wonderful Thanksgiving. I am grateful for you! 😊

Hello, lovely quilters! We delivered Christmas pillowcases to the hospital last week and they looked so pretty. Please bring your completed pillowcases to the guild meeting tomorrow so we can wash and iron them to be delivered in December. Thank you for continuing to support this project. Lake Mayer has set aside time for sewing/quilting of any kind on Nov 13, 14, 20th and 21st. Thursday times are 12:30 til 3:30 and Fridays from 10-2.  The new Greenbriar Community Center has opened and has textile arts on Wednesdays from 9-12. That center is just off Mills B Ln in West Savannah on Hopkins St. I will see you tomorrow at the meeting if you have any questions. Debbie Whiteway

There is maintenance happening at the community center at Lake Mayer and the bathrooms in the park are closed until Saturday. We have decided to cancel the pillowcase sewing on Friday (tomorrow). There will be portable toilets by the basketball courts for whoever wants to sew today or tomorrow. Thanks, happy sewing! Debbie

Happy Fall , y’all! The schedule for sewing pillowcases at Lake Mayer for October is Friday the 10th and Friday the 24th. We are there from 10-2. There is also quilting on all Thursdays from 12:30 until 3:30, however, they are closed for maintenance on the 2nd. Hope to see you there!

Hi, all. I hope you saw the picture on our guild Facebook page of our granddaughter with her pillowcase at the hospital on Friday. We need to keep making them. The dates for Lake Mayer are September 19th and 26th from 10-2. There is also time scheduled for quilting every Thursday from 12:30 til 3:30. Don’t forget to return your finished pillowcases to the guild meeting, especially the Halloween themed ones. We will deliver them mid to late September. Thanks, Debbie
