Hello Georgia Quilters!
My name is Kyra E. Hicks and I wanted to share with you that on December 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. there will be a service to honor Georgia quilter Harriet Powers (1837-1910) in Athens, GA. A new commemorative marker will be dedicated at her grave site at the Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery.

Novembers workshop is no sew Christmas ornaments. If you haven’t signed up yet I encourage you to join us. We will be making at least 7 different ornaments. Cost is 20 dollars for workshop (have to pay for the church you know) and 5 dollars for the kit which will include almost everything you will need to create these beautiful treasures.
All you need to bring is:
Glue gun. (If you don’t have one I’m sure people will share)
Glue sticks
Scissors
Needle and thread
Embroidery thread
2.5 in squares if you want to use your own fabric. 40 for ball ornament, 32 for wreath, 40 for acorn
Any embellishments you would like and spare bits of ribbon
Bring your lunch.
We will have refreshments and fun, fun, fun
