Hi all you wonderful quilters!  Today’s meeting was just terrific.   Kim’s presentation on The Lace of Italy was so interesting.  Thanks, Kim, for taking us on the tour of Italy!

I purchased it on Amazon after the February meeting and Kristy Furr’s talk on journaliy ng.  It is a popular brand so it hopefully will be back in stock soon.  It is called, “Dunwell Small Binder with Clear Sleeves (Aqua, 2-Pack), 5.5×8.5″, 24-Pocket Pockets Display 48 Pages (Half Page Size), Acid-Free Archival Quality, Mini Presentation Binder with Plastic Sleeves.”  If they don’t show as “in stock” soon you can purchase a mini binder/day planner holder and then buy the 5.5 x 8.5 sheet protectors to insert into the binder.

This is the page for the journals that I use.  It prints two on a sheet and you can cut or just fold it in half to slide into the clear pockets.  It is a pdf so you can print it but not customize it.  I made it in MS Publisher.  If you want a copy to edit in Publisher,  please email me at rippinrenee@gmail.com.

As the Sunshine Coordinator, it looks like I let the ball drop.  I noticed that the March Newsletter did not mention the passing of a valued member of our Guild.  Sandra Ailio passed on February 20th.  Sandra worked very hard for our guild to succeed.  She held many positions in our Guild, currently serving as Special Events Coordinator, and was a past Vice President.   She poured dedication and enthusiasm into every project she undertook.  We all loved Sandra and her passing will leave a huge void not only in our guild but in our hearts as well.

The drawing for the Talahi Community Center raffle quilt was held December 1st during a Hot Chocolate Social held at the community center.  The Friday Sew Bee donated the quilt to benefit the flooring fund for the center.  Josh, age 10, drew the winning ticket.  The winner is Giny O’Reilly who lives on Talahi.  I dropped off the quilt on the way home that night and Giny was thrilled that she won.  This quilt went to a quilt loving home and will be appreciated and loved!

Thanks to all of you who bought raffle tickets.  The community center is such a great place for our Friday Sew Bee and this is our way of giving back to their generosity to our group.  Special thanks to Judy King and Marilyn for the wonderful idea of donating this lovely Quilt.

The President Challenge is moved to the October 9th meeting.  It makes more sense that we have the reveal when our President is back and conducting the meeting.
