February 10th Meeting

Saturday, the 10th, is our monthly meeting. Socializing starts at 930 and the meeting at 1000. We will continue to sign up this month for the Scrappy Applique Class on Friday, March 8th. Be sure to check out Shannon Brinkley and Katie Lewis’s websites to give you an idea of what the class will be about. The after-meeting workshop will be Lanette Edens talking about our Quilting Boo-Boos. She will accept anyone who decides on Saturday that they would like stay and attend. The cost is $20. And for those attending our annual retreat next Thursday, I hope you’ve started cutting and organizing!
Cindy Ochoa will be running the meeting for me this month. Thanks Cindy!

Room to Rent

One of our guild members, Donna Vandable, has recently started chemotherapy. Her family has been coming to Savannah and taking turns to be by her side and help her. Donna doesn’t have much space for her family. She has asked if anyone in the guild might have, or know of someone, who has a room for her sister and brother-in-law to rent. If anyone has any possibilities, please call Donna and she can discuss details with you.

Donna’s phone number is (912) 713-0339.

Her email is vandable@att.net.

January Meeting

This is a quick reminder about Saturday’s meeting. At the meeting we begin our sign-up for the Scrappy Applique Class on Friday, March 8th. If you haven’t done so, check out Katie Lewis’ or Shannon Brinkley’s websites. Cost of the full cay class is $75. We also will begin signing up for a workshop held after February’s meeting, taught by Lanette Edens. The cost for this is $20. Details for both the March 8 class and February workshop will be presented at the meeting.  And last, but not least, don’t forget your annual dues of $30 are due by the end of the month. See you Saturday! Kim

Christmas Breakfast

Hi Everyone,

This Saturday is our Christmas Breakfast so make sure you come hungry! Breakfast will be in lieu of a program. Don’t forget to bring your President’s Challenge project with you. This is the big reveal! We will still have Show Tell. Yearly dues of $30 are payable in January. And if you signed up for the retreat, your bill needs to be paid in full by the end of Saturday’s meeting.

Below is a copy of the breakfast sign-up sheet, in case you forgot what you’re bringing. If you are coming and have not signed up, email me and I can let you know some items we may still need.

See you Saturday!  Kim

Meeting Correction & New Quilt Show

I wanted to correct my statement from yesterday’s meeting regarding non-members attending classes and workshops. It was easier to just copy our guild policy as it appears on the website. I apologize for the confusion.
Classes and After Meeting Workshops: Guild members have first priority to attend classes and workshops before the deadline date and interested non-members will be placed on a waiting list. Non-members can fill any openings after the deadline date. Non-members may be charged an additional $10 to attend a workshop or a class. The Savannah Quilt Guild does not refund workshop fees. You may sell your space to another Savannah Quilt Guild Member if you are not able to attend designated workshop.

I have also received an email from the East Cobb County Quilt Guild about their upcoming quilt show this June. It looks like a nice show. Some of you might like to enter this one! This link will get you to the show information.       www.georgiacelebratesquilts.com
