Hand Appliqué Bee Meeting

The Hand Appliqué Bee will meet on Tuesday 22 Aug 1:00 – 4:00 at the Garden CityLibrary, 104 Sunshine Rd.  There will be a workshop to learn how to make turned edge appliqués using fiber, templar and freezer paper.  This method can be used for hand and machine appliqué.

Supply List

  • scissors
  • pencil
  • glue pen (like Fons and Porter or Sewline)
  • 10” piece of fabric

Machine Appliqué Bee

The Machine Appliqué Bee will meet Tuesday August 8 at the Garden City Library 104 Sunshine Rd from 1:00 to 4:00.  There will be a workshop on fusible raw edge machine appliqué.  You do not have to take the workshop to attend.  Bring a project and help mentor those new to appliqué.

Supply List

  • Sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal and manual
  • extension cord
  • matching thread and bobbin
  • pencil
  • small paper scissors
  • piece of fabric to test stitches
  • 6 inch square background fabric
  • 4 inch square appliqué fabric
  • 4 inch piece of fusible web (or use one of my samples)

I will provide an iron, appliqué pressing sheet and a light box.  I will have samples of 8 different fusible web products.

Hand Appliqué Bee

The Hand Appliqué Bee will meet Tuesday July 25 1:00 – 4:30 at the Garden City Library.  The library is at 104 Sunshine Rd, Garden City.  Anyone doing hand work is welcome, no machines.  No food or drink except water.
At this meeting for those interested there will be a workshop for beginning needle turn appliqué using the back basting method.  The supplies needed are; 6” square background fabric, 4 “ square contrasting fabric, small scissors sharp to the point, a pencil, straight pins, sewing needle and thread for basting and appliqué needle.  I will provide silk thread for appliqué.

Appliqué Bee

The first meeting of the Appliqué Bee will be Tuesday June 27 12:30 – 4:00 at the Garden City Library Meeting Room 104 Sunshine Ave.  This is just off of Dean Forest Rd.

Bring some of your appliqué for show and tell.  We will discuss appliqué methods and determine future demos and workshops.  Bring a hand work project to sit and sew during and after discussions.  Please no machines at this meeting.

No food or drink in the meeting room.

This will be a reoccurring  Bee on the 4th Tuesday of each month so mark your calendars in advance.
