Project Linus Sewing Day, March 2

Hello, Guild Members!

It’s time to sign up for the next Project Linus Sewing Day!

We are meeting at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 2 at Bull Street Baptist Church. We can only accommodate around 20 quilters in the Fellowship Hall, so RSVP to reserve your spot!

Project Linus will provide pre-cut quilt kits. Attendees should bring their sewing machine, neutral thread, an extension cord, surge protector, and a suggested donation of $5-$10. All attendees should RSVP here (you can enter “maybe” and change your response later if you’re not sure if you can make it):    https://forms.gle/htpdr2sokQGxLx4y8

Thank you all so much for supporting Project Linus!

Cordially,

Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge

Quite a few people signed up for the Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge this year! Thank you all for your support- all of the contributions directly benefit Savannah’s chapter.

If you’ve completed the Mystery Quilt Challenge pattern (even if you haven’t had it quilted), can you bring it to Saturday’s Show and Tell? I’d like to get a picture of everyone’s work!

Whether you choose to donate your Mystery Challenge quilt, give it to a friend, or keep it for yourself, thanks for participating in this year’s Challenge! Keep an eye out for the upcoming national contest, when “Blanketeers” all over the country vote on their favorite project!

Quilt tops for Project Linus

Don’t forget! If you took a Quilt Kit at the July meeting, please bring the pieced top to the guild meeting tomorrow, September 9! We’ll be assembling the tops into quilts at our Quilting Day on September 30. RSVP here if you want to join us! https://forms.gle/k2puiqzik8JwduJY7

Also as a reminder: Project Linus can only accept quilt tops when the materials have been provided by our chapter funds (i.e. the quilt kits and projects made on Sew Days). We cannot accept any other donated quilt tops due to limited funding and supplies.

Project Linus: Mystery Quilt Challenge

Hi Guild Members!

Today is the start of a really fun Project Linus event: the Mystery Quilt Challenge! For $20, you receive weekly step-by-step instructions and videos to create a single themed block, similar to the Quilt Guild “block of the month.” At the end of eight weeks is the “Big Reveal” with instructions to complete a youth-sized quilt!

You can sign up for the Mystery Quilt Challenge at https://www.projectlinus.org/  Make sure to specify Savannah / Hilton Head as the Chapter Name, and Ellie Grix as the Coordinator so that your donation benefits this local chapter.

The first clue is revealed on September 23! This is a fun project for quilters of all skill levels, and a great fundraiser for Project Linus.

Important Project Linus Information

Hello again, members! I forgot to mention a policy regarding quilting donated tops:

Project Linus can only complete quilt tops when the materials have been provided by our chapter funds (i.e. the quilt kits and projects made on Sew Days). We cannot accept any other donated quilt tops due to limited funding and supplies.

Thank you all for your understanding! E-mail me if you have any questions regarding Project Linus’ policies on donations.
