I need help sewing Project Linus labels!

Hello, Guild Friends!

Ellie here from Project Linus, asking for some help!

I received no less than 55 blankets this weekend, and I expect another 75+ on Wednesday! Every blanket donated to Project Linus needs to have a label sewn in the corner. I need help getting all these blankets labeled.

If I could get a few volunteers to pick up blankets and labels from my house that would really help me a lot. The labels can be sewn on with a machine: just a simple zig-zag down the long ends, no “pivoting” required (see picture)

You can return the blankets through the end of the month, or at the next guild meeting.

I live on Teresa Dr, not far from Southside Baptist.

Give me a call or text at 573-631-2571 if you can give me hand.

Thanks so much!

Ellie

Project Linus “Scrappy Sewing” Fundraiser

Hello, Guild Members!

I’m writing to share the information and signup link for Scrappy Sewing with Patty, a fundraiser for Project Linus.

For $20 you will receive a total of 9 quilt patterns (with the possibility of more!) released every other week through May 31.

You can sign up at https://www.projectlinus.org/scrappy.php

Be sure to enter Ellie Grix, Coordinator and Project Linus of Savannah, GA / Hilton Head, SC as your chapter! That way your $20 donation directly supports this chapter’s funding.

Already signed up? Having trouble finding the patterns?

Go to https://www.projectlinus.org/ and click “Login” at the top right hand corner. Enter your email address and the password you set up when you first made an account through Project Linus (you can use the “forgot your password?” if you need to reset it). Then click “Events > Scrappy Sewing With Patty” to download the patterns.

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up! This fundraiser has been a huge success, and a lot of fun! You can join the Scrappy Sewing with Patty Facebook group to see what other quilters have made!

Sign-ups start today at www.projectlinus.org

Be sure to enter Ellie Grix, Coordinator and Project Linus of Savannah, GA / Hilton Head, SC as your chapter!

Registration costs $20, and the first quilt pattern will be released on March 8. You will receive a new pattern every other week for a total of seven beginner-friendly scrappy quilts! You can join the Facebook group “Scrappy Sewing with Patty” to see what other quilters are making!

I’m so excited to get started! I love “stashbuster” patterns and I can’t wait to see what beautiful creations are in store.

Sign up today, and remember to select Savannah and Hilton Head so that your donation benefits this chapter.

Quilt Kits for Project Linus

Just a reminder: if anyone took a Project Linus Quilt Kit in August, remember to turn it in by the December 14 meeting! I’m taking them home to Missouri to be quilted by my mother, who owns a long-arm machine.

(I also wanted to clarify that I can only accept quilt tops if the materials are provided by Project Linus. As a rule, Project Linus cannot accept tops or works-in-progress.)

Thank you, Savannah Quilt Guild, for all your support of Project Linus! See you at the next meeting!
