Project Linus, October Fabric Sale

Hello guild members,

At the October meeting, I will have some fabric for sale, with all proceeds benefitting Project Linus of Savannah / Hilton Head! Everything is priced at $4/ yard or less, including some fun 3-yard kits for $12, printed panels for $2, and fat quarters for $1/each.

I can accept payments in cash, check (payable to “Project Linus” with “Savannah/ Hilton Head Chapter” in the memo line), and certain online payments.

See you next week!

Tips on Handprint Quilt

Hello Guild Members,

My church has asked me to make a handprint quilt for a raffle item at our upcoming Fall Fest! They want all the Sunday School kids to stamp their hands on a square and then have an adult write their name on the block. I’m thinking I’ll just use simple sashing around the blocks.

Does anyone have any tips on what kind of fabric or paint markers I should use? Any tips for keeping this project as mess-free as possible?

Thanks for the advice!

Ellie

Take-home Projects for Linus!

Hey guild members!

A lot of people have asked when the next Project Linus Sew Day will happen! Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to organize a large event right now. The next Sew Day will probably be in the spring.

However, I do have a lot of quilt kits prepared! I also have some fleece pieces prepped for a crochet border. I’m going to bring them to the August guild meeting, so if you’d like a take-home project, come grab one!

You can return the completed tops whenever they’re ready, but please try and get them back to me before December. Kindly consider a making small donation of $5-$10 per top to help cover the cost of quilting.

Thank you all for your support of Project Linus! I’m so grateful to know so many talented and generous crafters and quilters.

Fabric Sale to Benefit Project Linus

Hey Quilters! At the July 6 Make-A-Blanket Day event for Project Linus (sign up below!) I’m going to sell some three-yard packs and quilt kits to raise funds!

The fabric packs and kits will be a $10 donation each. Even if you can’t stay for the Fleece Blanket event, feel free to stop by and peruse what I have for sale. I also have some Villa Rosa pattern cards that I’ll throw in for free with each purchase!

I just came back from the Project Linus Retreat in Kansas City and I have a lot of great ideas from the coordinators I met there. Stay tuned, and thanks so much for your support!

Project Linus of Savannah is having a make-a-blanket day on Saturday, July 6 at 10:00 am. Instead of sewing quilt tops, we will be making fleece blankets. We are making them in two styles: “no sew” fringed fleece, and blankets with a crocheted border. Supplies needed and other information in the link above!
