Modern Quilt Bee July

Our Zoom meeting is coming up Wednesday July 16, 1 pm.

Rita has a great article from Carol Lyles Shaw, I Love Maximalism in Modern Quilts.  We would like everyone to read this short piece, and enjoy the pictures, for discussion at our meeting.

Please send your name and email to  Mary Bass to be added to the meeting attendees.

Casseroles, Sides and Fruit Bowls, oh my!!!

The July Luncheon is tomorrow!  You will be bringing a food dish instead of take-it table items.  So much more yummy 😋.

Bring your food dish with a serving utensil to the 3 tables that are set up for food.  They will be located on the kitchen side of the room.  There will be tented cards to identity your dish if it is gluten free, vegan, vegetarian or dairy free.  Please place the one that best describes your dish on the rim of your bowl or pan.  This is not necessary for fruit bowls or easily identified dishes.

After the exciting day of fun and games please remember to take home your bowl and utensils.  It will sure make the clean up easier for the volunteers.

I’ll see you tomorrow, as soon as I find my flip flops!

Reminder this Saturday’s meeting is Game day!

Sun surf and fun is the theme of July’s quilt meeting. Here are a couple of important reminders:

Check in at the front table with Jan if you haven’t paid your $5 yet

If you have paid your $5 she will have your 5 tickets for the boardwalk games.  You will definitely want to check out the boardwalk games for a chance to win prizes

Don’t forget your (6) 2 1/2 in by wof strips in beach designs or colors for left right center games

if you have a Mexican train game please bring it so everyone can play. Don’t worry if you don’t know how it’s easy to learn

Please don’t forget the side dish or food you have signed up to bring

Dress Code is beach or boardwalk style or colors  no bathing suits 😎

And most important  get ready for laughs, getting to know the people in the guild and make new friends

Pillowcase project July 2025

Where has June gone?! It was fun but went by way too quickly. I hope you were able to grab a bit of fun sewing time. We received a nice number of pillowcases at the guild meeting. Thank you. Frances and I will be working on pillowcases at Lake Mayer on Thursday July 3rd and Thursday the 31st from 12:30- 3:30 (note the change to Thursdays and later time). If you need help or want to learn, we will be available. There is also sewing/ quilting time scheduled for July 10th and the 17th from 10 til 1.
