Upcoming Vote on Membership Age Requirement – April 12th

At our next guild meeting on Saturday, April 12th, we will hold a vote on a proposed amendment to our bylaws regarding membership eligibility. The proposal is to set a minimum membership age of 16 years old. Currently, membership is open to individuals of any age.

This amendment was brought to the board for consideration, and we believe it is important for the full membership to have a say. We encourage all members to attend and cast their vote.

Current Bylaws Language:

“Membership is open to anyone interested in promoting the art and craft of quilting. Members 80+ years old are considered honorary members with free membership. Annual dues are payable in January and any Executive Committee recommended changes to the dues amount are subject to membership approval.”

Proposed Revision:

“Membership is open to anyone 16 years of age or older who is interested in promoting the art and craft of quilting. Members 80+ years old are considered honorary members with free membership. Annual dues are payable in January, and any Executive Committee recommended changes to the dues amount are subject to membership approval.”

How the Vote Will Work:

  • If you are present at the April 12th meeting, you will vote via ballot at check in.

  • If you cannot attend the meeting, you may submit a proxy vote using the link below. Proxy voting is only for those who will not be at the meeting in person.

  • Each member may vote only once.

Pillowcase sew April 2025

Hello beautiful quilters! Thank you so much for your generosity in donating fabric, dollars, time, effort and your creativity to making pillowcases for children at the Hospital. Julie Dobson’s sharing of comments from her fellow church members whose children had received pillowcases from the hospital touched my heart. We are providing comfort to families through something we love to do. I just wanted to let you know that the next two meetings at Lake Mayer will be Friday the 4th and Friday the 10th from 10-2. Bring your machine and supplies, we have lots of kits.

Remember you can put your name in the jar for the drawing when you return your finished pillowcases.

Food Pantry Donations for IAm at the Church of the Epiphany

Heading to the store this weekend? Why not toss in a little something extra for our food pantry collection! We’re gathering donations to support the IAm Food Pantry at the Church of the Epiphany, and your contributions can make a big difference.

They especially need: canned meats, vegetables, and fruit, rice, pasta, grits, boxed mashed potatoes, peanut butter, jelly, and shelf-stable milk.

You have two ways to donate:

  • Drop off directly at the church (corner of Waters & Washington) on Tuesdays, 8:30–11:00 AM

  • Bring your donation to our next Guild Meeting on Saturday, April 12th, and drop it at the collection table.  Karen Hayes will be there to receive everything, and—you’ll even get an extra ticket in the “Thank You for Coming” raffle!

A little generosity goes a long way—let’s help fill some pantries and spread some kindness!

Thank you,

Michael Sengstack
